Embrace my holistic approach
At Serenidad Therapy & Holistic Wellness, I am dedicated to providing healing through a holistic approach that addresses the mind, body, and spirit. I believe that understanding the relationship between these three aspects can be very beneficial to a person’s healing journey.
I am a trained EMDR therapist, and my areas of focus center on trauma, anxiety, depression, relationships, cultural and immigration stressors. I also work with people experiencing many other emotional or life challenges. I combine Person-Centered Therapy and other modalities like Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to support each client’s unique needs.
I work with teens, adults of all ages, couples, and families.

About me

Tania Olimpia Gonzalez Bataz , LMFT#149674
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Trained EMDR Therapist, Owner & Founder of Serenidad Therapy & Holistic Wellness
About me
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) in 2014 and completed my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at University of Massachusetts Global, in 2021. I became a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in 2024 and I was inspired to open up Serenidad Therapy & Holistic Wellness to meet the growing need for mental health services and to continue uplifting those who have been marginalized.
During my internship and work as an Associate, I gained experience in community mental health and non- profit organizations, providing care to diverse populations, including children, teens, couples, adults of all ages, and families from different cultural backgrounds.
Before I began my work as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I provided Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with autism and other developmental challenges. I also supported adults with autism and other developmental challenges who lived independently and needed assistance with daily activities.
Over the years I have assisted clients struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, cultural issues, immigration challenges, relationships, self-esteem, and more.

My Mission
As an immigrant from México City, raised in a traditional Mexican family and a native Spanish speaker, I understand how cultural and immigration-related experiences, along with racial discrimination and trauma, can deeply affect a person’s emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
My mission is to create a safe and nurturing space for anyone who is struggling and seeking healing, but especially those who are or have been marginalized and/or experienced oppression.
I am also committed to providing an affirming and inclusive space for LGBTQ+ individuals, recognizing the unique challenges they may face. I strive to offer care that honors each person’s identity, experience, and journey toward healing.
Through this work, I hope to contribute to a collective movement of healing—bringing balance, compassion, and light to individuals, families, and the world around us. Together, we will work toward restoring balance and harmony in your life, empowering you to be your authentic self while cultivating self-love, resilience, and inner peace.
